So, I bought my bike in 2014. That makes this my 6th season on a proper bike. Before that I did have a year on a POS big box MTB doing up to 85 miles. Altogether we’re looking at well over 20,000 miles.
I’m at the point where I have observed some very specific traffic patters, people patterns, behaviours, etc.
Now seems like a good time to bitch about it. I think I’ll start posting my cycling rants. I might be right, I might be wrong… I rarely post – or speak – my opinion unless I know I’m right, so consider that … in all honestly, I hope my rants can draw attention and discussion to safety topics… I’m just trying to have fun and make a point at the same time!
I give the standard 8 feet distance when passing a cyclist, but beware if i see you and there is a puddle nearby, you may get attacked by a tidal wave… but then you will know it was me by the plates…
My God, I wish 8 feet was standard! 3 is the law, it’s rare to get that… Almost daily I get passed within 6 inches. Now if you splash me… I probably deserve it… Since you would have had to see me in spandex!
