It ain’t even close! What’s good and what’s bad? Well, the fabric used on the actual shorts is kinda neat. It’s a much different texture than other bibs I own and I kind of liked it. Also, the actual chamois is nice, it’s rather thin and comfortable, yet held up well. Now, I normally wear an XL bib short, but I did my research and read that these run small, so I upsized to a XXL. To be fair, the actual shorts fit pretty well. I quite like them. The problem is in the upper, the bib portion. The straps are so short that I popped seams trying to get them on. With a lot of struggle, I was able to get the straps up over my shoulders. It’s a comical sight to see; however, as they are so taut that they look like shoelaces running over my shoulders. I tried to ride in them a bit to see if they might stretch out a bit (like 6 inches maybe). It just hurts, the straps are terrible.
I really want Castelli bibs, but these ain’t them and I will not buy another pair without being able to try them on first. Their sizing is pretty crazy – I’m afraid that to find a pair of bibs that fit my FGOB waistline and get up over my shoulders, I would end up with shorts that extend past my knees or something.
