Rev. Voodoo

Over the past couple years, Rev. Voodoo has experimented with many different software packages for building websites.  And those website services have been left online and available for anyone to use.  Keeping an eye on traffic level and activity it is apparent that some of these sites are just not used.  Sites like the Voodoo Community, Club Voodoo, VoodooSpace, and the VoodooPic site haven’t really been maintained in some time, and they really don’t match up with, provide use for, or present The Voodoo Empire very well.  So over the next little while these little side-project websites will be deleted.  This will leave the core Voodoo Empire sites for people to enjoy.  Besides why have anything up that’s substandard?

These following sites are the ones we will keep online for The Voodoo Empire as they are continuously monitored and improved:

• Rev. Voodoo’s Blog
• Voodoo Empire File Sharing Service
• The Voodoo Forums
• The Voodoo Empire Shop

If anyone actually likes any of the other sires, let us know before we delete them!

Well, here’s tha backstory.  A couple years ago Rev. Voodoo was searching the google machine to see what all Rev. Voodoo and Voodoo Empire sites had been indexed.  And he came across http://reverendvoodoo.com.  However, this site wasn’t part of The Voodoo Empire, it belonged to some other guy.  So we checked it out, and checked out where it was hosted and then put down a backorder fee on the domain name.  Then, totally forgot about that.  And after a couple of years, whoever owned that site didn’t renew it on time, and it was automatically transferred to The Voodoo Empire!  Cool!  It is currently set to forward to The Voodoo Empire main page, until we decide if it needs it’s own page, or if forwarding is enough.

Luckily Rev. Voodoo frequently checks on the status of all Voodoo Empire websites.  This attack was caught just after it happened, and before any damage was done, such as being delisted from Google.  All is currently well….but I am confused.  According to several posts around the Wordpress community, including this one, as long as I keep The Voodoo Empire up to date with the latest Wordpress releases, all should be well in the security world.  But that just ain’t the case.  I always upgrade this site on the day a new version is released.  But we still got hit….  Oh well…Rev. Voodoo will maintain vigilence in protecting the site, andhopefully you all will continue to enjoy our offerings!

It’s been just over a week since Rev. Voodoo started working dayshift.  That’s right….dayshift…..after 12 years!  So far, I’m surviving…..but it’s pretty strange keeping these kinds of hours!  And now I’ve actually got things to do at work, which sure cuts into my design time!  But I’ll still find time for my projects!  I may have to begin doing my design work at home!  Horrors!  On that note, keep your eyes peeled for a full relaunch of the Digital Dissent website.  We are planning a full relaunch of the main webpage, to cater to a successful multimedia business design, along with a launch of the DigitalDissent blog!  It’s pretty exciting.  Watch for the launch, check in at the site from time to time to see what changes, and definitely consider them for your photo/video needs!

It’s time to launch the new site!  It just went live 5 minutes ago, and I pretty much love it!  I’m sure I’ll want to tweak a bit of the css as I look at the site a bit, and I would love to add some more complex functionality to it….but the main portion of the site is done!  Some people may not care for it so much….but I’ve got a certain style, and the design fits me quite well!  Why not check it out here and let me know what you think?

Rev. Voodoo has been hunched over the warm glowing box where his Photoshop/Dreamweaver/Illustrator lives for a bit now…..and things are starting to happen.  Gone is the basic flash homepage for the Voodoo Empire, and in its place a mighty fine site is growing!  You can check it out now….it’s pretty barebones, lacking much content.  But what you can see is some basic graphic design and layout for the site…and it looks pretty good.  In a couple days the first revision should be live and solid!  That being said…Rev. Voodoo can’t resist the opportunity to tweak, so this website will probably change quite a bit over time!  Hope ya like it!

Well, Rev. Voodoo just finished an overhaul of Hot Spot Tanning Company’s website.  It may look the exact same to you, but believe me, it is so much better.  After much studying, Rev. I know there hasn’t been a lot of new content lately here from the Voodoo Empire.  But we’ve been real busy with wedding planning!  Don’t forget our wedding website AngelaAndJamie.com that’ll show you all the plans we’ve come up with so far.  It’s just over 2.5 months away!

Lookin for a tan?  Check out this website!  Not looking for a tan?  Check it out anyway.  It’s the first site Rev. Voodoo was hired to build from the ground up, NOT using wordpress….  It’s fairly simple, but it’s pretty cool since every element on that page is hand draw, hand coded, etc.

In an effort to better serve the Voodoo Empire community, Rev. Voodoo spent the better part of 15 hours converting this website into a Wordpress Multiuser install.  The concept is good, it would let anyone come here and sign up for a rvoodoo.com blog.  You instantly get yourname.rvoodoo.com and away you go.  It also had some really cool community features lacking here.  But the software is just too buggy, so we’ve rolled back, and that’s just fine.  This site already works great for delivering you all the content you expect.  As always, if you want a yourname.rvoodoo.com website, or any website really, all ya gotta do is ask!  It’s just one extra step.
