Rev. Voodoo

Rev. Voodoo decided to sit down and set up an install using the same software as Wikipedia, for learning experience.  But now that it’s up and functional, it’s kind of neat.  So we will leave it up as an experiment.  VoodooWiki will be left up as a repository of sorts.  A place for people to collect information and define whatever they want.  Define yourself, define music, define art, put up random articles, tell the world about DJs, DJ collectives, bands, absolutely anything.  With a bunch of people putting in just a bit of effort, it could become a very cool place to visit.

First the Voodoo Empire would like to announce that the www.RVoodoo.com to Voodoo Forums update is complete.  And now anyone who has ever registered on this site was automatically given an account on the forums.  Your password should be the same.  But what works better is when you are signed on here and you open the Forums page you should be already logged in.  Also, updates from the Forums are included in the sidebar on this page now, you can click any of them to go right to that topic.  And finally, all appears to be well on the Forums, everything is healthy and functioning! 

Just and update for anyone tring to access the Voodoo Forums.  Something seems to have gone wrong over there, although I’m not sure what.  I have made no changes in the past 24 hours and accessed it several times around 3am.  But since then it has started experiencing horrible performance problems.  I’ll be monitoring the situation and if it doesn’t improve within a day I will have to most likely reinstall the software.  Luckily this shouldn’t be too much trouble as I just ran a full backup at 8:30 last night.  Not too much will be lost.  See you all on the forums soon!

Well it’s been scary so far.  Rev. Voodoo has been trying to make www.RVoodoo.com and the Voodoo Forums play nice together.  As of now, if you sign up for an account here on www.RVoodoo.com you automatically get an account on the forums.  And when you sign in here, you are signed in there.  Neat eh?  That’s only for new sign-ups as of now.  I’ll need to be more brave before I try to import all users because I could lose everything.  The next project is the reverse of this.  I would also like it so that anyine who signs up at the Forums also gets an account here.  So that’s where it stands for now.  I’ll keep you posted!

I’ve been hard at work on the Voodoo Forums today. Several new things have been implemented.

• The easiest was adding a colour mod so I can change text colour for Categories. I just thought that would help distiguish main category headings a little.

• Next up was the PM mod. I didn’t like how all PMs were listed together on one page, looking just like a thread. So all incoming PMs joined together to look like one conversation, no matter how many people had sent them. Now you’re PMs will come up as a list and you can click each one individually. Also added was the ability to have a pop-up when you get a new PM. This defaults as OFF but can be changed in your profile settings.

• Attachment upload sizes have been modified as some folks wanted to upload samples to share for music creation. I have not decided on a final size yet and am open to input.

• And finally, I’ve added a user photo gallery. Now instead of just including photos in your posts, you can keep a photo gallery on the Voodoo Forums with lots of photos.

OK, all 3 sites I am hosting right now (Rev. Voodoo, DJ Odawa, and The Voodoo Forums) have been up and down for 2 days. It appears to be a server side issue. I am going to be working with my server folks to find out the trouble. Until then, I apologize for the downtime, and the slow load times. But try to have fun ya’ll! Much Love!

I’ve just finished setting up the Voodoo Forums.  The link is http://forums.rvoodoo.com or you can find it in my links section.  Development is pretty much complete unless folks want more stuff added.  All we need now are members!  The Toledo scene used to communicate all the time on the old forums, I’m just hoping to rekindle a bit of that spirit!
