Rev. Voodoo

Well, I hunkered down a bit and got it done!  We are closing up the old Voodoo Empire shop which was located at http://shop.thevoodooempire.com.  You can check out our new shop located right here!  Just take a look up at the top navigation for the shop tab.  Give it a click and check things out.  I do have just a few more things to do stylistically…..but we are good to go.  The shop is open, all the old products are uploaded, and we are linked to Paypal.  Browse through all our old stuff, or check back soon.  I’m gonna start getting some more new art onto some new stuff.  As soon as I have time, I’m going to finish up DJ Odawa’s logo and get that on some stuff.  And keep an eye out for Ankhjii’s branded stuff.

Decided to sit down with the Photoshop machine again.  I just plain don’t get much time to do any fun stuff.  But when I do, it usually involves The Voodoo Empire in some way, logo, the name, etc.  Well I thought it might be fun to start experimenting with Ankhjii’s name.  She does have her own website over at ankhjii.com, and I plan to start stylin’ it up a bit.  It’s clean pink and black now, which looks nice…..but I’d love to add some personality.  So here is my first attempt at coming up with some sort of header art type deal.

Another year, another party.  I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who helped in some way, even if it was just by coming out and having fun!  We had a lot of great food, a lot of great music, and a lot of great times!  Thanks to everyone for making the Annual Voodoo Empire Backyard Bash such a great time, and we will see you all next year!

Time sure flies when you are busy!  I can’t believe the party is already this Saturday, but it’s here.  I’m off work tomorrow to finish cleaning up the yard so nobody thinks I’m lazy! (OK, Ankhjii has been bustin her tail gettin it done for days now).  Just remember, bring chairs if you have them… I have almost none!  Bring your drinks, stuff for the grill, etc.  I will have some sides, salads, chips, plus I always cook too much.  Bring your records, as always Tombraydar has come through with the gear!  I’ll have shade set up, our cherry tree is huge now, plus we have the tents we set up.  I just checked the weather, lookin good!  No rain in the forecast as of now, and the temperature is supposed to drop down to the low 80s.  Maybe not ideal, but better than this week.  I’ll have some sort of water thing for you to cool off with, a slip’n'slide, or whatever is available at Meijer.  Feel free to camp out in the yard for the night if you have a tent, or we have floor space….. sorry I can’t offer better lodging, we have slowly been renovating and haven’t replenished all our furniture yet.

I think that’s about it.  The most important thing of course is to bring yourself and have a blast!

Wow time flies!  It’s just two weeks until the backyard bash!  Hope everyone is lookin’ forward to it.  I think it will be an amazing time.  Remember it will be starting at 2pm, and go the rest of the day.  After 10pm, we can come inside so as not to disturb the neighbours.  Now…. unlike years past, we don’t plan on being awake multiple days, so don’t plan on showing up at 3am to a full blown party.  I gotta get my beauty sleep these days.  Bring what ever you want to eat or drink.  There is always extra everything to go around, so if you forget…. no worries.  Now, here’s the big one… if anyone has any chairs they can bring, please do so.  We have plenty of space, canopy tents, a grill, etc….but we plain don’t have many chairs.  So if you can bring one or two, that’d be great.  Also, if you think you may wind up in no condition to drive home, try to plan a head a tiny bit.  Bring a pillow, or a blanket or something…. we only have 2 couches…but tonnes of carpeted floor space!  Heck if ya got a tent, we got plenty of backyard you are welcome to!  Anyway, we’ll see ya’ll on the 10th!

It’s always fun to draw up something new with The Voodoo Empire head logo guy!  I had an itch to draw a little something up.  Maybe something for a computer wallpaper, or to use down the road on clothing, or even on a website.  Here’s a nifty little project from this morning using the logo.  It’s kinda cool, at least I think!

We’ve decided to get this going again.  The past couple of years have been rough for a lot of people.  We missed last year because of so many issues.  The year before we managed to do this and have a blast, that was right before the accident.  We think its high time to get everyone together again, cook some meats, play some music, and have fun!  So on July 10th come on out.  Bring your grillables, bring some records maybe, definitely bring spare chairs if you have them……but most importantly bring yourself!  I’m gonna try to get a slip’n'slide or something of the sort.  I’ll definitely have the grill fired up with a fresh tank of propane.  Come on out for a day of fun!  As always, if ya got the little ones, they are welcome….we keep it family friendly all day!  Hope to see ya out.  Log on to Facebook and check out my events section to discuss if ya wanna!  Maybe even RSVP.  See ya then!

Well, been working on the finishing touches here at The Voodoo Empire.  You are looking at the final product.  We wanted to get the theme finished before the release of WP3, which will start the process all over!  Already in the plans are a new menu system for just under the header.  The one in place (the internal WP text links, not the external image based nav) is a bit dated, but WP3 is going to have a new menu system, so we are waiting to overhaul that.  We just refinished overhauling the sidebar, and touching up just a bit of the typography…things like spacing in the titles, leading caps, etc. 

But as far as WP2.x goes, we’re going to consider this a final theme.  It’ll stick around here a while finally.  This is probably the 3rd major theme change, with countless edite to themes and verious overhauls.  But we’ve finally got things pretty much where we want them.  Hope ya like it!
