Rev. Voodoo

Coming up this Saturday is going to be one spectacular event that you won’t want to miss!  Check out the flyer for full details on this event.  Some serious art and tunes coming in to the Liquid Ultra Lounge!  And The Voodoo Empire is representing well this time.  Odawa and Simplicity will both be throwing some tunes, and Rev. Voodoo will have some art on display.  This should be a great time!

Rev. Voodoo will be playing the opening slot for Wired this coming Wednesday, July 30th at Liquid Ultra Lounge.  All the info about the night is on the flyers.  Come on out and support the local scene, enjoy some cheap drinks, and have a damn good time.  The Rev. will be on at 10pm!

The VoodooEmpire2 theme has just been rereleased by The Voodoo Empire.  Not much has changed, just cleaned up some code, and added a few lines to make it fit better with newest Wordpress requirements.  It can still be downloaded at it’s permalinked location here.  Recently Wordpress has opened their theme repository here, and Rev. Voodoo released it there but wanted to clean the code up first.  It’s available for download from there as well.

Most of the web development for The Voodoo Empire is complete, and now we are looking to grow.  What is the Voodoo Empire?  Basically at this time just a promotional tool.  Rev. Voodoo will promote the hell outta ya, and in return you do the same for The Voodoo Empire.  That’s it.  Rev. Voodoo will happily assist members in creating an online presence (maybe even give you your own online place if you need it..a la DJ Odawa and Ankhjii’s pages…..), we can give you a home for your music so others can download, we can help with product development and sales, we can help with basic graphic design, and in the future we will be looking into actual promotion….events and such. 

So if anyone is looking for a place to call home, The Voodoo Empire is looking for people!  We aren’t looking to compete with any established groups around town….more like trying to enhance what is already in place.  If you are interested, just contact Rev. Voodoo or one of the other members!  You don’t have to be local, we are accepting anyone looking to grow and help us grow.

Well it looks like the newest version (2.6) of Wordpress has been released.  It’s time to upgrade all of The Voodoo Empire sites.  This site has already been upgraded and the only problem so far is that Rev. Voodoo can’t post anything wih the plugins active.  So it’s time to go through the plugins and see where the problem lies.  After that, the rest of the sites will be upgraded.

For those of you following along at home, the problem has been tracked down.  Unfortunately it is a major problem for The Voodoo Empire.  The conflict lies in the PodPress plugin, which is the plugin that controls all the music on this site.  None of the other Voodoo Empire sites will be upgraded until a solution has been found.

You may notice a new banner up at the top of the pages here.  I’m hoping that these banners turn out to be decent and we don’t get anything too annoying up here.  In an effort to promote The Voodoo Empire more, Rev. Voodoo has started participating in some banner exchange programs.  Maybe it will work, maybe not, but let’s see what happens!

It’s a sad day in The Voodoo Empire.  Many people over the years have spent time at Rev. Voodoo’s house.  And anyone who has know Vyvyn quite well.  The ultimate laid back, party friendly, hippy Kitty Cat.  Unfortunately Vyvyn passed away this morning at about 11:30.  He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.  Vyvyn’s wishes were that all donations are in the form of catnip and ocean whitefish canned cat food, given to your nearest cat.

Well, a couple weekends ago, Rev. Voodoo took the Ohio motorcycle safety course and got his endorsement.  How long could it be after that before a ride was needed?  Well….not long.  A nice deal came up at work, and here it is.  Rev. Voodoo’s Yamaha Vmax!
