Another year, another party. I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who helped in some way, even if it was just by coming out and having fun! We had a lot of great food, a lot of great music, and a lot of great times! Thanks to everyone for making the Annual Voodoo Empire Backyard Bash such a great time, and we will see you all next year!
I’m not really sure why, but Ankhj and I were sitting here talking about random stuff. I was reminiscing about my old OLD days of Jiu-Jitsu, and fighting with my old partner….and the heavy music we would listen to for inspiration. I remembered having a tape with 2 bands on it, Boltthrower on one side, and The Accursed on the other. I decided to Google them to see if I could find out anything about them…..believe it or not, I found both bands. So, just for Shiggles (thanks Dina) check out this old school, hard ass punk!

Currently we are in the planning phase for our annual backyard bash. We missed it last year, things were kind of messed up as many of you know. But it would definitely be nice to be able to get everyone together again. All the standard stuff, music, food, fun, etc! Hopefully we can settle on a date soon, but we are definitely looking at June, before it gets too hot out. We will probably need to borrow some items, music making supplies, maybe some chairs, etc. Any date work better than others for anyone? We want to make sure not to conflict with anything anyone else is planning. Drop us a line, let us know what works!

For a little while things were pretty shakey. We’d lost access to Angela and Jamie’s wedding site, along with the upload site. Not to mention we had no access to our hosting at all. Things are pretty much recovered. All sites are restored, as is hosting access. We’ve even managed to sneak in a little upgrade! The blog page over on the Voodoo Empire main page is no longer a barebones rss import through an xslt fragment…. it’s a full & complete import from this blog. That pretty much doesn’t mean too much to you, the user, except that we can keep that page more stylized and pretty! Plus you can see photos and listen to music directly from the blog page without having to come here first! Yay, less clicks! The only thing left to do now is wait to see if the Spam attack comes back before we declare total victory!
We’ve been so incredibly busy around here with developing the Voodoo Empire brand, that it seems the music may have been a bit neglected! Well let’s change that right now by injecting a little electro into yer butt! Now wiggle! This is another Radio 1 Essential mix, aired on August 21, 2009!
