Local Selection-Rev. Voodoo

Posted by Rev. Voodoo under Local Selection
200x200-blk-red-logo.jpg Well here’s another mix from Rev. Voodoo.  They keep getting better, but perfection is still a long ways off.  The main problem is that mixing at work using only laptop speakers is nearly impossible.  With all bass being nonexistent the beat is quite hard to match.  So the first few mixes on here are pretty rough.  But if you tough it out or just skip ahead a few tracks, say 20 minutes, the mixing tightens up quite well and all in all it’s pretty enjoyable to listen to.  Give it a try and see what you think.

Posted by Rev. Voodoo under Mix of the Moment

It’s been a little bit since we’ve had a Mix of the Moment selection up on the Voodoo Empire.  Rev. Voodoo has been busy mixing and posting personal mixes.  But here’s a little something from the DnB side of things.  It’s an Essential Mix selection from Blame back on Feb. 27, 2009.  Enjoy. Some Repairs Have Been Made!

Posted by Rev. Voodoo under Empire News

Well, Rev. Voodoo finally had time to sit down and figure out how to fix two problems with this website that had developed sometime during the recent hospital stay.  The ratings wouldn’t allow anyone to rate new mixes, and people couldn’t sign in to leave comments.  Both of those things have been fixed, so we here at The Voodoo Empire beg you, let’s get to rating some of the fine music offered here, that helps us steer the music towards what you like.  And while you are here, leave us some comments.  We love to hear from you.

Sorry About The False Start

It seems Rev. Voodoo may have jumped the gun a bit with that last post.  All is apparently not well.  Unfortunately Rev. Voodoo is still battling a nasty infection, which is keeping him from doing anything fun, including tending to The Voodoo Empire.  Please hang out a bit longer, all will be right in the Empire very soon.  Things like new mixes, new items in the shop, new members and various other fun things!  Much love from the Empire!

deadmau5.jpg The BBC’s Essential Mixes never disappoint, and rarely does Deadmau5! This next Mix of the Moment is his essential mix from July 19. Enjoy! Tracklist is below.

Judging by the response we have gotten at The Voodoo Empire, two of our most recent Mix of the Moment offerings have been quite popular.  The James Zabiela and the Booka Shade mixes.  Well wouldn’t you know it, shortly after we post those up, a new Essential Mix comes out featuring both of them.  The first portion is James Zabiela, and the second is Booka Shade….all together in one Essential Mix from July 5th, 2008!  Enjoy! (Tracklists are at the bottom)

New Local Music Selections

Posted by Rev. Voodoo under Empire News

Here at the Voodoo Empire we have been providing some of the best DJ mix selections we can find.  It seems like a great idea to also provide some of the local music coming out of the Ohio area.  So now you will see some mixes put up under the title Local Selection.  We hope you enjoy these and provide a little support to these hot up and coming artists!  These mixes are quality!

Adam Beyer’s mix from the Les Ardentes festival in 2007 is one bangin’ techno set that both the Reverend and DJ Odawa have really been diggin’ for a while. What do you think? And should the Rev. keep sharin the mixes he’s enjoyin’?
