The Voodoo Empire

Well, I always love hosting mixes from Frankie Bones on here.  I stumbled across a sweet link to a variety of great old mixes from a post he made on .  So here’s a little something from that.  A Frankie Bones live mix from Southern Cali back on April 15, 1995.  Time to turn it up and groove old school!

I haven’t seen any new mixes from in quite some time.  Does anyone even listen to him anymore?  Last I saw/heard him was when he was at DEMF, and his rude ass fans were cheering over Misstress Barbara’s set.  Anyway, this one hasn’t been tested out so I hope the sound quality is decent at least.  I know was one of the first DJs I listened to many years back, him and Frankie Bones…..not so much because its what I liked, more like it was the first stuff I ever heard.  This is live at Mayday 2010 in Dortmund, Germany just the other day, back on April 30th.  Turn it up and lets see what we get!

It’s time to launch the new site!  It just went live 5 minutes ago, and I pretty much love it!  I’m sure I’ll want to tweak a bit of the css as I look at the site a bit, and I would love to add some more complex functionality to it….but the main portion of the site is done!  Some people may not care for it so much….but I’ve got a certain style, and the design fits me quite well!  Why not check it out here and let me know what you think?

Lately the Mix of the Moment selections have come off as a bit of a let down.  Rev. Voodoo has been tryin to jump the gun with getting you the latest mixes.  That means posting things that are fresh, without having time to give them a listen.  The past couple mixes have been pretty poor quality, short cell phone type recordings.  Well, that’s over!  This mix is from DJ , recorded live on May 16 at Figueira da Foz.  It’s some seriously hard bangin’ Portugese techno.  This one is great for drivin’ fast, turn it way up!

3573893747_32dd9c381a.jpg Here’s a neat little mix to get us back into the groove again.  It’s not great sound quality, and it’s under 20 minutes long.  But it’s from the recent DEMF that so many of us went to!  I know I was watchin this live, you probably were too!  So enjoy this little offering, and we’ll have more for you very soon!

Due to some technical difficulties, the was dead in the water for the past couple of days.  Users coming to the site wouldn’t have noticed, everything looked fine.  But Rev. Voodoo was unable to access the admin areas of the site to update content or manage the site.  Everything has been remedied and the site is alive and wonderful again.  Just to celebrate, we will get a wonderful new Mix of the Moment up for your enjoyment tomorrow!

revspinnin.jpg That’s right, the time has come to join us at Avalon in Downtown Toledo (25 S. Huron St) and check out Rev. Voodoo playin his new teched out progressive house sounds.  Then hang around and enjoy the night with us, and check out the rest of the lineup.   This is the last time I’ll be out I believe until after all the stuff is dealt with….so it could be a long time before I play again.  I’d love to see you all out, just in case.
