The Voodoo Empire

Wow, RenFest was Crazy!

Posted by Rev. Voodoo under Life, Voodoo Style

Rev. Voodoo and Ankhjii went to Renaissance Festival in Holly, MI this past weekend, just like we do every September.  It sure was a great time!  The weather was absolutely perfect.  The only real problem was that we forgot it was a holiday weekend and man, it was packed!  Note to self (and to anyone else who wants to go), don’t go on Labour day weekend!  We have some pictures up on our flickr, with a few more to be uploaded shortly!  Check em out!

3573893747_32dd9c381a.jpg Sure Ankhjii and Rev. Voodoo were only able to make it for one night of the festival, but we did get several quality shots.  Ankhjii always gets some really fine shots when she is in charge of the cam, which is 99.9% of the time!  You can peep the photos at our flickr site as always!  There are some cool shots ranging from us, to Carl Cox….so lots for you to enjoy!

misstress.jpg Misstress Barbara is one of Rev. Voodoo’s favourite DJs, and has been featured by the Voodoo Empire here several times.  But this mix is near and dear to our hearts.  It’s from the 2007 Movement / D.E.M.F. festival in Detroit, MI.  Several members of the Voodoo Empire were present for this set, and the picture shown here was taken by Ankhjii.  The quality isn’t so great on this recording, but the set is great.  Enjoy!

DEMF 2008

Posted by Rev. Voodoo under Upcoming Events

movement08.jpg It’s that time of the year again.  DEMF or Movement 2008 is about to go down in Detroit.  It takes place at the Hart Plaza right near the Renaissance Center if you are not familiar with the area.  This is always an amazing time and this year the line-up looks like it won’t dissappoint.  If you’ve gone before, you know what to expect.  And if you’ve never been, now is your chance!  Below is a list of confirmed artists by stage.  These are only the artists actually playing the festival proper.  There are many many more artists playing at after parties all over town.  A simple google search will turn up a tonne of options, or you can check the Voodoo Forums for a pretty good list of after parties.
