Recently the Voodoo Empire has expanded again.  We now have included the High Priestess, Rev. Ankhjii.  Next up we have our tattoo artist, the Lovely Miss Blue, and our piercer, Atom Bomb.  Stay Tuned, the Voodoo Empire is due to grow at leaps and bounds!

Well the plans are starting to roll!  Keep this date saved!  June 28th will be the 3rd annual backyard blowout thrown by Rev. Voodoo, DJ Odawa and the Empire High Priestess, Ankhjii.  These things are always a blast so make sure you come out!  Bring food for the grill, liquor, records, whatever!

The party goes all day until whenever!  As usual, during the afternoon and up until sound ordinance….the party is family friendly.  So for those of you who have kids bring em out.  I’ll try to have somethin on hand for ‘em to do….(I’m thinkin slip and slide this year).  We go until between 10 and 11 outdoors.  After that it’s time for the kids to head home and the party (or at least the noise) to head indoors for the night!

There will be a keg on hand and donations are always appreciated.  Bring booze, we will have some mixers.  And bring food.  We always have extra but bring what ya like.  Chips, pop, sides, desserts, salads, and of course MEAT.  The grill will be open to everyone who wants to cook.

Well it’s finally finished!  The Rev. told Ankhjii that for her birthday (last year) he would take her to get her first tattoo.  Of course it takes some time to come up with the perfect design.  After much thought Ankhjii selected a Ginko leaf, which is near and dear to her heart.  We went to see the amazing Miss Blue at Perfectly Pierced and Permanently Scarred who applied this amazing piece of work to Ankhjii’s skin.  I can honestly say to anyone considering a tattoo, this wonderful woman is the best!

Recently the Rev. and Ankhjii decided to get a little away time.  We heard rumours about the Belamere Suites in Perrysburg.  Simply put an amazing time was had.      

First off, one can totally leave the world.  When one arrives, they are given a garage door opener at check-in.  You simply park your car in the garage attached to your suite and never have to see the world again.  The suite has no windows, so you never have to deal with the daylight.  They tell you that the front desk will take care of everything.  That was definately put to the test.  We called many times for new towels, coffee, food, etc.  And every time the things we needed were delivered right to our door.      

The room itself was quite cool.  Giant bed, decent size TV (which we didn’t really use), huge glass block 2 person shower (bigger than the Rev.’s entire bathroom), fireplace, giant Jacuzzi, and the coolest thing would be our own private pool in the room.  And of course we had to decorate the place to fit us, so we brought along all of our party lights.      

Just down the street from the Belamere is Levis Commons, with the Nagoya Restaurant at the very back.  The only time we left the room was for dinner at Nagoya.  The food there was plain killer.  We started off with some sashimi, and the Reverend was finally able to satisfy a life goal.  To have Kobe Beef, and yes, it is as good as they say it is.      

Unfortunately all good things must come to an end, and now we are back in the real world.  But while it lasted, it was amazing.

                    Well for Christmas, among other things, Ankhjii received a home Absinthe brewing kit.  It took a couple of weeks to put everything together.  But tonight, the time has come.  Its Absinthe drinkin time.
