Rev. Voodoo

Another person has decided to brand themselves for life as part of The Voodoo Empire family.  This time it’s DJ, who is an up and coming…well….DJ!  DJ has been bitten by the musical bug and now finds himself parked behind the wheels of steel.  Stay tuned, cuz one day you’ll see this guy playin the tunes at your local clubs!

Well, a couple weekends ago, Rev. Voodoo took the Ohio motorcycle safety course and got his endorsement.  How long could it be after that before a ride was needed?  Well….not long.  A nice deal came up at work, and here it is.  Rev. Voodoo’s Yamaha Vmax!

So today on Rev. Voodoo’s drive in to work, there was a bright flash and a loud bang and the Buick went dead.  Seems the Reverend’s car was hit by lightning right there on I-75.  It took a bit to get it running again, and once it was running the electronics were freakin right out.  After everything was settled down, the Buick once again runs fine, except for the right turn signal, and all interior electronics.  What a ride!

Rev. Voodoo hit another milestone on the drive in to work today.  Well actually his Buick did.  That’s right the big 100000 Mile mark!  She may have a hard time keeping fluid where it’s supposed to be, but she is runnin strong!  And that’s all that really matters.  Here’s to the next 100000!

Some time ago, Rev. Voodoo and his special lady were watching the Fine Living Network.  One of our favourite shows was on, The Thirsty Traveler.  Now this show has educated us on many various boozes, but one episode was about Maple Liquors.  This concept intrigued the Rev., and the search began.  After much googling, Sortilege was stumbled across, but the battle had just begun.  See, this stuff is made in Quebec and is rather hard to find in the U.S.A.  But after emails to numerous booze brokers, we did it.  We got our hands on 2 lovely bottles of Sortilege, and they are amazing.  It tastes just like maple syrup and whisky ought to.  It’s golden liquid perfection!

Those of you who have visited the Voodoo Empire for any amount of time are already familiar with the lovely Miss Blue’s artwork from Ankhjii’s gingko tattoo.  It seems one of the Voodoo Empire’s best friends just got a new tattoo from his wife….the amazing Miss Blue. Here’s a pic of it.  Why yes….that is the Rev. Voodoo logo.  Atom Bomb is the first member from the Voodoo Empire family to brand himself for life!  It’s quite beautiful…Now wait and see who’se next!

Well as many of you already know, the Reverend has been pretty much hiding out, not being social and doing this Nutrisystem diet thing.  Well, today is the last day of the diet.  After ten weeks and 31 pounds, it’s back to normal food.  Hopefully the weight stays off, but this wasn’t really as much about losing weight as it was trying to get healthy again.  So real soon Rev. Voodoo will be back in the club drinkin drinks and playin the records.  See you then!

A while back we posted about the home brewed absinthe Ankhjii made.  And that turned out great, but it’s running low.  We figured it would be a neat idea to try some of the traditional stuff.  This is the type we selected from France.  Moulin Vert Absinthe.  It can be found at E-absinthe.

As many of you know, it has been a tradition for Rev. Voodoo, DJ Odawa, and Ankhjii to have backyard cook-outs each year.  This tradition will continue of course.  We are planning the next one as I type.  But in the coming years you will have something new to look forward to.  Ankhjii and the Rev. have just finished planting 11 dwarf fruit trees around the perimeter of the yard.  It will take a few years for the trees to produce fruit, but when it happens it will be fresh fruit for everyone back there!
